We work with our customers to do a complete assessment of the current situation and get a good understanding of service requirements.
The Discovery and Design process is a critical initial tool used in quantifying the problems associated with mismanaged printer, fax, and copier fleets. A Discovery is just as it sounds: the physical discovery and mapping of every current device in a customer’s fleet.
In a typical Discovery, the PrinterWorks process:
Conducted by our trained Account Management Team, this step gathers all relevant data such as current page count, serial number, past service history, carbon footprint, current toner costs, current service costs, department, cost centre codes, and key user contacts as part of our assessments.
Utilizes our team and takes a proactive “feet on the street” approach to collecting and verifying the integrity of your data. Verifying data means understanding the current state of the equipment, knowing its life expectancy, and ensuring that the correct data is being populated into our service control system and remote fleet management utilities.
Provides and affixes a unique asset tag to every device that enters into a PrinterWorks MPS contract. This tag is cross referenced within PrinterWorks own electronic service control system as well as our customer-facing remote management utilities.
Our design and discovery process will allow you to get a better understanding of your total current print costs. We expose the true costs of printing with your current fleet and outline ways in which you can better manage these costs.
In a typical Discovery and Design engagement, PrinterWorks will expose the “true” costs associated with operating a fleet. Based on our experience from conducting these studies, we often find that clients are often “oversold” and we often find workgroups that are “over-deviced” and “under-utilized”. By understanding these true print volumes and utilizing manufacturer network management tools PrinterWorks is able to accurately predict and report on consumables usage. The Discovery and Design ultimately gives you the knowledge that you need to make informed decisions on your fleet.
